The month of March is a big one in the vision care field. “Save Your Vision” Month always underscores the many “take care of your eyes for a lot of good reasons” messages to the public.

Major exhibitions like Mido and International Vision Expo East are bringing together the world’s leading suppliers, buyers and eyecare professionals for education and the viewing of new, technologically-driven vision solutions products and timely style-right eyewear. (See our Expo Preview section beginning on page 64.)

Vision Monday takes part with its fourth annual Global Leadership Summit here in New York this week. Its theme is “Mindset: Reset,” with a roster of thought-provoking speakers both from within and outside the industry to generate some important learning, dialog and, perhaps, debate.

Our new, “A Greater Vision” VisionMonday.com resource section pulls together a range of important news and information about leading non-profit initiatives to deliver sight-saving solutions and eyecare to the neediest populations around the world and here at home. (See our profile of RestoringVision.org on page 30.)

“Social purpose” and “corporate responsibility” is striking a chord with people today. All of us impacted by the tough economic challenges of the past 18 months are eager to move on and are more conscious than ever about the meaning of “value” in both our business and personal lives.

The New Year is well underway, but this month feels like the “start” —a good time to take stock, get energized and refocus.
