Extreme talent tends to come with a bit of eccentricity. So it isn’t surprising that some sports superstars lean toward being a little odd. In this edition of Bold Face we feature three such athletes who have manifested their weird right on their heads…

Before Ryan Lochte became the Team USA Vogue magazine cover boy we all know and love he unfortunately sported these questionable long, curly locks. Now the Olympic Gold Medalist swimmer has completed his events at the 2012 London Games and he is headed home with five more medals to his name, two of them Gold. There have been rumors that Lochte is a little disappointed there isn’t more Gold in his loot but you know what’s not disappointing? These Nike Vision NSW MDL 77 sunglasses from Marchon…

Bob Soven may not be a household name yet but with last week’s debut of his new show, Wakebrothers, on MTV that is about to change. The show follows him and brother, Phil, both professional wakeboarders as they compete against each other on the professional wakeboarding circuit, while living under the same roof and partying with their friends. Bob, in all his redheaded glory, was signed to the Spy Optic roster of athletes in the beginning of this year and here you can see him and his ginger locks in the Helm sunglasses from Spy. Wakebrothers airs on Wednesday nights at 11 pm on MTV…

One of the oddest professional athletes out there right now, San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Brian Wilson has one of the densest, darkest beards Bold Face has ever seen. Clearly it has not affected his performance on the field; statistically, Wilson has become one of the best closers in Major League Baseball. So it was no surprise he walked the red carpet looking dapper in a suit and a pair of Alexander Daas Power sunglasses at the recent 2012 Espy Awards. What was a surprise was his date. Not his girlfriend Chelsea Lewis, seen here, but his other date, Sasquatch, who he affectionately referred to as Brosquatch. For photographic proof visit Alexander Daas Eyewear’s Facebook page.
