If you are reading this column, my holiday wish for you is that you are sitting down (not standing on a train or waiting in a checkout line) taking five during one of the busiest times of the year. The Holiday Season is upon us: here in New York City, the tree at Rockefeller Center and the world’s largest Menorah have both been lit, so it’s official—2010 is coming to a close and here’s hoping that in a few weeks it will be out with the old and in with the new.

If you’re like most Americans, it might be tempting to see the glass you’re raising as half empty. But take heart. Let’s look at the half full aspects of the glass.

Remember that the challenges of 2011 don’t all have to be about bad times. We are in the midst of exciting technological advances when the Internet and all that it offers has become a powerful business tool as websites, Facebook and Twitter have become firmly entrenched in the marketplace.

The power of technology has been taken to another level as businesses are beginning to see the potential and ultimately reap the benefits of online commerce, both with their customers and their B2B counterparts. (See our Special Report, “Site Support,” on Page 21).

On another note, this is also an exciting time for Vision Monday— in January we will launch a re-designed publication with a fresh new look and a greater emphasis on news, trends, topics and community. We know a lot of our readers have come to depend on getting their news from VMail, our twice-weekly newsletter, which is why we’ve decided to take it to five times a week with news delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and special editions of VMail for Products and VMail for Technology on Tuesdays and Thursdays, respectively.

As you celebrate the Holidays and look to the possibilities of a New Year, we here at Vision Monday toast you, our readers, wishing you good health and prosperity in 2011. We are looking forward to bringing you the news, information and business building tools you will need for the coming year.
