LAS VEGAS—The annual optical laboratory party, Labapalooza, was attended by hundreds of vendors and optical laboratories, held for the first time at last month’s Vision Expo West. Top Labs, Web Site of the Year, and Trash to Treasure awards were presented to the winning labs during the two-hour party which took place Oct. 2. The Free-form Five band opened the evening with their “hit single,” “My Generator,” which was followed by the presentation of the awards.
LabTalk editor, Christie Walker presented the winners of Trash to Treasure, a finishing pad art contest to: BJ Gregory, Southern Optical; Courtney Allessio, Perferx Optical; Carolyn Harris, Southern Optical; and Sabrina Wells, Southern Optical. Walker also presented the Optical Laboratory Web Site of the Year Awards, with Diversified Ophthalmics taking home the top honors. Vision Monday’s Andrew Karp presented the Top Labs 2009 rankings.
