LAS VEGAS—Attendees may notice some changes at this year’s International Vision Expo & Conference. In 2010, show organizers conducted a Brand Study to make certain that plans for growth continued to align with attendees’ goal of obtaining the best in education, technological advances and business practices. Information provided by the study was put back into Expo 2011 and this year’s curriculum offers eyecare professionals more than 388 hours of world-class education for every area of interest—a noteworthy increase of more than 80 hours from last year.

According to Kirk L. Smick, OD, FAAO, chairman,of the Conference Advisory Board, “more than 60 percent of the education program is dedicated to the hottest topics related to the clinical and medical care of your patients. From diagnosis and treatment of disease to contact lenses, pharmacology, neurology, and nutrients you’ll gain insight and best practices from leading clinicians that will enable you to practice to the fullest extent of your license.”

International Vision Expo & Conference also offers a wide array of business courses for eyecare professionals anywhere, with over 50 unique courses in the Business Solutions curriculum. Featuring programs such as Visionomics, The Management Business Academy and Frame Buyer’s certificate, ECPs will gain the need-to-know information to maintain and grow the fiscal strength of their practices, according to show organizers.
