LAS VEGAS— American Optical Services (AOS) has announced the acquisition of the five vision centers of Eyear Optical, which have served the McAllen, Texas market for over 50 years.

The acquisition brings American Optical Services’ total locations to 85, throughout the U.S. The deal “continues the focus AOS is placing on the state of Texas,” AOS’ statement said.

Pierre Keyser, founder and CEO of AOS, added, “We continue on our strategic path to make key acquisitions across the country to strengthen our network and, in the same process, offer a great exit to the best operators in the industry.”

An AOS spokesperson told VMail that Stewart Lantz, the former owner of Eyear, will not be staying on with the company, as his management role will be filled by AOS. “We are extremely happy to sell to AOS as we can be positive that the reputation and success Eyear has built over the past decades will be continued into the future,” stated Lantz.
