ST. LOUIS—The American Optometric Association (AOA) is seeking nominations for the Paraoptometric of the Year Award, which is given annually to the optometric assistant or technician who has made outstanding and worthwhile contributions to the profession of optometry, paraoptometry and the general public. The criteria for acknowledgement include office competency; service and contributions of personal time and effort to paraoptometric state, regional and/or national associations; and personal endorsement by the nominating individual.

State Paraoptometric of the Year award winners are eligible for the national nomination, and any previously nominated Paraoptometric of the Year nominees who did not win may also be nominated again. Nominees must be a member of the AOA Paraoptometric Section. Nominations must be received by Feb. 1, 2013.
