CINCINNATI, Ohio—E-Z Pack, a leading packaging company for the optical industry, has announced the acquisition of Patron Graphics, a Covington, Ky.-based graphic arts company, and relocated the business and its equipment to the E-Z Pack facility in Cincinnati. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a statement, E-Z Pack noted that the acquisition of Patron Graphics “gives E-Z Pack the added capabilities of digital printing and wide-format printing for signage, banners and point-of-purchase displays.” The graphics firm’s new Canon digital C700 printing press allows for “quick production of small quantity printing at far less cost than offset printing with faster completion of orders,” E-Z Pack said in its statement.

In addition, via this acquisition E-Z Pack has added new digital printing and die-cutting equipment, including the high-speed Heidelberg ProMatrix 106 CS die cutter. This press, which enables die cutting of large, 40-inch sheets at speeds of up to 8,000 per hour, is the “first to be delivered in the United States,” according to E-Z Pack.

E-Z Pack is “family-owned” by Wayne Signer, Barry Schwartz and Teri Junker, according to the statement.
