NORWALK, Conn.— Independent Doctors Of Optometric Care (IDOC), the doctor’s alliance based here, has announced a new membership choice program for 2015, called IDOC Select.

IDOC Select, to launch Jan. 1, will offer a new option, a one-stop solution specifically designed to help independent ODs grow their practices and realize their full revenue potential, the group said. IDOC Select will combine an industry-leading discount and rebate program with practice-tracking software, and IDOC consulting services that outline strategies for growth and increased profitability. Current IDOC members will have the option of keeping their current IDOC program, or switching to IDOC Select.

According to Mark Feder, OD, the CEO of IDOC, “IDOC Select is essential to an independent OD’s success because it is a metrics-based offering, featuring business management program The EDGE, powered by GPN . He added, “The EDGE is a robust tracking system that captures clinical and sales activity, monitors vision plan profits and measures staff performance. It helps identify areas of opportunity for a practice to increase revenue.” IDOC is including this tool in the monthly dues for IDOC Select. Purchased separately, GPN’s The EDGE would cost nearly $4,000 in the first year alone, Feder noted. In the new program, IDOC is introducing IDOC Select at $99 per month.

“Turning data into action through consulting services” is another aspect of the program that will help ODs succeed, the company pointed out. According to Dave Brown, IDOC president, each IDOC Select member will have a regularly scheduled consultation with an experienced IDOC business consultant who can provide recommendations for practice improvements. “Our goal is to help our members realize maximum productivity and profitability, and we will work with them to develop strategies for improvement. Rather than just providing data, we want to be part of the process of guiding the member on the path to practice growth.”

Rounding out the product offering are “unsurpassed vendor programs from a limited roster of leading industry partners that are calculated based on meeting market share thresholds for those partners’ products. In other words, rebates are not based on growth goals, which can be increasingly more difficult to meet over time,” Feder said. He added, “The increased discounts and rebates alone are reason enough for a practice to consider membership in IDOC Select. But for many, the real value will be realized when the data capture and analysis result in growth strategies that work.”
