AUSTIN, Texas—Reflecting the growing traction of online b-to-b ordering in the vision care/eyewear business, VisionWeb announced that it reached 100,000,000 collective online orders placed through its online ordering portal since its origin in 2001.

VisionWeb has created an infographic about the milestone, tallying up several notable facts. Now posted on VisionMonday.com’s Multimedia section VisionWeb’s “State of Online Ordering” graphic reports that while VisionWeb’s global users helped reach the 100 million online order mark, 70 percent of these transactions were placed in the U.S. Between 2003 and 2014, the number VisionWeb’s accounts have grown 1,321 percent. And VisionWeb calculates that ECPs have saved 570 years by placing 100 million orders online via VisionWeb versus other methods.

Ken Engelhart, CEO and president of VisionWeb, said, “The continued growth of online ordering represents the eagerness of eyecare providers to utilize technology in a way that enhances their practice’s daily functions, and validates that VisionWeb’s value proposition for eyecare providers has grown each year.”

VisionWeb’s online ordering solution connects eyecare providers to over 400 optical suppliers so that they can place their spectacle lens, contact lens and frame orders all from one online location. Nearly 30,000 eyecare providers, in the U.S. and across the globe, use VisionWeb today.
