NEW YORK—In an effort to educate eyecare professionals on the beneficial effects of blue light, Spy Optic has sponsored an ECP market research study on blue light conducted by Jobson Optical Research and a continuing education course, both free of charge.

Blue light management is at the heart of Spy’s objectives. The company started leveraging the beneficial power of the sun’s long-wave blue light in 2013 when it launched the Happy Lens. The key feature of the color and contrast enhancing Happy Lens is that it protects the eyes against harmful shortwave blue light and UV rays, while letting in beneficial long-wave blue light, which studies show can result in uplifted mood and alertness.

Jim Sepanek, executive vice president of Spy Optic, said, “Spy is happy to sponsor the study and the CE course as we endeavor to learn more and share information about the field of blue light management and more importantly, the happy side of blue light.”
