Kansas City, Mo.—OWL (Ophthalmic Women Leaders), a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing ophthalmic innovation and patient care, announced that Heather Ready has been appointed president; Georgette Pascale as vice president/president-elect; Beth Marsh as vice president; and Maureen Tipp, CPA, COE, as secretary/treasurer of its executive team. Marsha Link, PhD, will remain on the board as immediate past president.

“I am honored and excited to take on this new role at OWL,” said Ready, president, OWL. “I thank Marsha for her invaluable leadership in transitioning OWL from a networking group to an organization with a clear vision and mission. We plan to continue in her footsteps, keeping the organization focused in an era of expanded opportunity and building upon the programs, education and energy of OWL’s past successes.”

Ready is currently senior marketing manager at Abbott Medical Optics. Prior to that, she was vice president of marketing at AcuFocus. She has also held leadership positions in sales and marketing at USGI, VISX, Baxter and American Hospital Supply. Previously OWL’s vice president/president-elect, she has served on the board for five years and been an active member since 2006.

Pascale is president of Pascale Communications, which she launched in 2004 to address an underserved niche within health care PR by forging meaningful relationships between editors, clients and physicians.

Marsh is principal of BAM Consulting. Prior to starting her own consulting practice, she was a key initial team member in four ophthalmic start-up organizations.

Tipp, CPA, is an independent medical practice consultant specializing in financial and operational solutions. From 2000 to 2015, Tipp was CEO of NW Eye Surgeons located in Seattle, Wash. and, prior to that, served as auditor, controller and CFO in various industries.

Founded more than 10 years ago, OWL members represent a diverse group of accomplished professionals and practitioners from across ophthalmology. Based in the belief that diverse leadership results in better outcomes, OWL works across ophthalmology to provide professional and personal development and opportunities for collaboration through extensive programs, events, and online offerings.
