ALAMEDA, Calif.—Primary Eyecare Network (PEN), a division of ABB Optical Group, will host “The Great Game of Business” solutions summit for PEN members from March 4 to 5 at the Marriott Marquis (780 Mission Street) in San Francisco.

“This informative summit will give attendees the opportunity to work with industry leaders and participate in peer-to-peer and vendor discussions that will provide them a voice in developing strategic growth in the industry,” Nan Meehan, vice president of eyewear for ABB Optical Group and PEN, said in a statement.

The Great Game of Business, Inc. was established to help companies implement the open-book management practices outlined in the book, “The Great Game of Business,” according to a PEN announcement. The company is one of the leading and most respected resources “for open-book management training and education,” PEN noted.

Among the speakers at the event will be hands-on owner Danny Clarke, OD, of Clark Eyecare Center. Clarke has seen firsthand how successful the use of this program is in the optical industry, according to PEN. The summit will provide insights into how to successfully manage and grow successful practices, improve business results and learn how to tap into staff’s intellectual capital.

The first day will consist of a workshop where participants will focus on profitability and cash flow, keeping staff working together on a common goal, and gaining year-end success from day-to-day improvements. Day two will focus on solutions with a state-of-the-industry panel of doctors and vendor leaders who will collaborate to tackle some of the top industry issues.

Founded in 1984 by a group of private optometrists, PEN is a division of ABB Optical Group, and it is focused on enhancing the independent professional optometrist's ability to compete in a rapidly changing marketplace.
