VENICE, Calif.—“What good is an individual without vision? What good is a product without soul?” So asks the narrator of the Garrett Leight California Optical (GLCO) short film released last week, “GLCO Icons: John Lennon.” In the film, which is a minute-long segment depicting John Lennon as the inspiration for GLCO’s latest frame, The Wilson, archival footage combines with modern animation and a poetic statement telling viewers that individuality, vision and soul are necessary for a product to be great.
