SAN FRANCISCO—Luisa Delgado, CEO of Safilo Group was one of the executive speakers at last month's the Financial Times’ FT Business of Luxury Summit, hosted in association with Michael Dyens & Co. The three-day event took place at the Ritz-Carlton hotel here from May 22 to 24.

Regarded as the premium thought leadership gathering for senior luxury executives, industry leaders, corporate decision makers and financiers from around the world, the theme for this year’s high-profile annual event was called New Creative Synergies.

Citing the event's location this year, organizers explained, "Our understanding of what constitutes modern luxury has been totally transformed. The West Coast of the U.S. has led the way in this revolution, not only in the field of technology but also in a societal shift in attitude."

Delgado participated in a panel called Beyond Luxury, the New Frontier where industry insiders described how luxury is evolving beyond the runway to embrace eyewear, shoes and interiors—and how a convergence of Millennial tastes and new technology are driving this change. Delgado was joined by Andrea Bonomi, founder and managing principal, Investindustrial; Thomas Chauvet, head of European Luxury Good Equity Research, Citi; and panel moderator Rachel Sanderson, Milan Correspondent for the Financial Times.

Delgado was among 34 speakers at the Business of Luxury Summit which included artists, economists and executives leading the creative revolutions from prominent companies such as Saint Laurent, Levi’s, Moda Operandi, Tiffany & Co, Barney’s New York, Oscar de la Renta, Google, Coach, Diane von Furstenberg Studio and Tesla, among others.
