MARIETTA, Ga.—The McGee Group has announced a new licensing agreement with fashion designer Trina Turk. The new multi-year license will feature optical and sunwear, infused with the bold signature prints and dynamic colors unique to the Trina Turk brand. The first collection will be launched at the Vision Expo West show in Las Vegas September 2016 and will be available for purchase in exclusive eyewear specialists and Trina Turk boutiques nationwide, the company said.

“A genuine California local, Trina Turk is inspired by the Golden State’s multicultural mix, creativity, craftsmanship, architecture and landscape—a synergy that permeates her contemporary, colorful and print-driven aesthetic,” McGee said.

“In partnership with McGee, we’ve interpreted the pattern and vibrant color DNA of the Trina Turk brand into a collection that we look forward to introducing to the eyewear market. Our direct to consumer clientele will welcome signature sunwear to complete the lifestyle we’ve created in our stores and at TrinaTurk.com,” said Turk.

Inspired by the multicultural mix, architecture, and landscape of California, the Trina Turk collection is full of the season’s most casually sophisticated and “must have” silhouettes. Trina’s philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic fashion that incorporates the best aspects of classic American sportswear, the company noted. Founded in 1995, the Trina Turk brand includes women’s ready-to-wear, Mr. Turk menswear, outerwear, swimwear, recreation, residential and jewelry.

The Trina Turk brand’s corporate headquarters, design and production are located in Alhambra, Calif., east of downtown Los Angeles. The first retail store opened in Palm Springs in 2002 and has since expanded to 11 signature boutiques: Palm Springs, New York, Fashion Island in Newport Beach, Burlingame, Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, Dallas Highland Park Village, Atlanta’s Phipps Plaza, Manhattan Beach, Market Street in the Woodlands, Texas and Houston Galleria. An outlet store operates in South Pasadena. Biscayne and Hawaii boutiques are due to open Summer 2016. Trina Turk is an active philanthropist, giving back in each of these local communities, as well as contributing generously to arts, education and preservation causes, among others.

“We are proud of this new partnership and the trust placed in us. The Trina Turk brand enriches our current portfolio with the optimistic West Coast styling that we were lacking in our current collection of brands,” said Wayne McGee CEO of The McGee Group.
