NEW YORK—Attendees to next month’s International Vision Expo East will have new options for taking a break during busy days filled with exhibitor meetings, show floor events and education courses. The show’s new Take 30 Lounges will provide charging stations, Wi-Fi hotspots, access to food and beverages, and a rest and casual meeting area for attendees expected to gather for Vision Expo East, according to show organizers.

The provision of engaging, relaxing gathering spaces is part of a larger trend for trade shows looking to enhance the typical show layout to better meet evolving needs of attendees, exhibitors and sponsors, according to a recent white paper released in March by Freeman, a producer of more than 5,000 expositions annually and 12,500 other events worldwide. The report concludes that trade show audiences are seeking out customized, personalized and engaging experiences and this desire is largely driven by the attitudes of the incoming generation of attendees.

It’s a trend that has been dubbed an “engagement revolution,” and Vision Expo show organizers said it’s in-line with feedback that attendees have been providing for the past few years. In response to this trend, it is predicted that exhibitors and show organizers alike will begin creating more spaces and events on the show floor to draw in attendees and keep them engaged.

The “Take 30” lounges will be located throughout the exhibit halls on Levels 1 and 3 and allow attendees to take a break and connect with peers in a modern and convenient environment.
