Jim McGrann
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Global has named Jim McGrann president of VSP Vision Care, effective Jan. 1, 2012. He succeeds Gary Brooks, who is retiring after 33 years with the company.

McGrann most recently served as VSP Global’s chief technology officer (CTO) and CEO for Eyefinity. He will continue as VSP Global CTO, leading the completion of key projects for the enterprise. McGrann joined VSP Global in 2008 from Marchon Eyewear, where he had been senior vice president and chief information officer.

According to the company’s statement, “Under McGrann’s leadership, OfficeMate has become the number one practice management software in the optical industry. Always focused on finding ways to leverage technology to move the business forward, McGrann has been a catalyst for change within VSP Global, leading key initiatives, including web-based sales automation, SAP implementation, developing a centralized European Distribution Center that consolidated seven operating units, and implementing IT governance and program management best practices.”

McGrann has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Before entering the optical industry with Marchon in 1999, he spent 15 years as a consultant and partner for Anderson Consulting, IBM Global Services and Ernst & Young.
