SEOUL—Korean-based eyewear brand, Gentle Monster taps actress, performance artist and model, Tilda Swinton for its latest frame collaboration.

Along with collaborating on the collection’s design, Swinton will also be starring in a campaign and short film called “The Endgame,” shot and directed by Erik Madigan Heck. The title of the film is a reference to Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalytic concept of recognizing oneself in a mirror which is manifested in the film’s set.

“Gentle Monster has always been an avid admirer of Ms. Swinton’s artistry,” said Taye Yun, vice president, Gentle Monster USA. “Whether through film, photography or performance art, her vision and aesthetic is in-line with the Gentle Monster DNA. Not only is she Gentle Monster’s muse, but she always represents the core identity of what Gentle Monster is all about.”

Additionally, the mirror concept seen in the play and the reflective style of the eyewear play into the design of the collection which is composed of three styles and colorways called “Newtonic,” “TrickOfTheLight” and “Eye Eye.” The collection will be available this March at key retailers, Gentle Monster flagship stores and GentleMonster.com.
