Based on a true story, The Monuments Men, in theaters now, is a World War II action drama, in which a group of art experts go to Europe under the guise of soldiers to find and retrieve art stolen by the Nazis. The German army plans to destroy everything as the Reich falls, leaving “The Monuments Men” in a race against time to save 1000 years of culture. Matt Damon stars in the film as Lt. James Granger, based upon the real life James Rorimer, an American museum curator and former director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, who served in the U.S. Army's Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Section (a.k.a. the "Monuments Men”). There are probably very few people in the U.S. who don’t at least know about Mad Men, the television period drama series that follows “ad men” in the 1960’s. The seventh and final season begins on Sunday, April 13 on AMC, and January Jones is back as Betty Draper (now Francis), main character Don Draper's ex-wife and mother of their three children, Sally, Bobby, and Eugene Scott. Now married to Henry Francis, she and the children live with her new husband in Rye, N.Y. Michael Fassbender is no stranger to period pieces. His long resume includes films like 300, Jane Eyre, A Dangerous Method, Inglourious Basterds and of course 12 Years a Slave, which earned the 36-year-old actor an Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. This year he reprises his role as a young Magneto in X-Men: Days of Future Past. In the movie the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.
