PADUA, Italy and PARSIPPANY, N.J.—Safilo is launching OXYDO Sunglasses as a part of its newly created Atelier division. The collection will debut with four sun styles that infuse “Made in Italy” with new stylistic blends that connect with the world of art, the company said.

The frames, which showcase eclectic, inventive design concepts with the iconic, highlight the balance between quality and technology. Elements of experimental architecture and geometry, high definition details and evocative shades can be seen throughout this collection. OXYDO’s wearable sculptures infuse the contemporary into shapes of the future.

“The first Safilo brand presented as part of the new Atelier division, OXYDO blends trailblazing technology with art-inspired beauty,” Henri Blomqvist, CEO of Safilo North America said. “Crafted in Italy with advanced technologies, such as 3D printing and architectural constructions, this collection has brought to life our renowned product savoir faire, heritage and innovation capabilities in the form of wearable sculptures, deeply engrained in avant-garde art.

“Conceived for sophisticated and cosmopolitan individuals, each piece is available in a limited edition—exclusively made for the customer—and marked by an identifying code highlighting the year of the model’s release in numeric progression,” Blomqvist said.

Each piece in the collection is marked by an identifying progressive code (O.No.), which features the numeric progression of the year and of the released style.

“The brand’s forward-looking design and continuous research lead to inventive exchanges and collaborations with the most notable talents of the contemporary scene, ultimately crafting outright wearable sculpture,” the company said.
