Who: The 20-something year old self-proclaimed wine connoisseur, fans of Molly Ringwald in “Pretty in Pink,” those stocking up on healing crystals specifically speaking to the Heart Chakra as well as the likes of Thom Browne’s resort 2016 show and Roberto Cavalli’s spring/summer 2016 menswear show.

What: For the first time, the Pantone Color Institute declared not one, but two colors of the year. A blending of Rose Quartz and Serenity. To complement the tranquility of Serenity, Rose Quartz adds a much needed warmth to the duo.

Wear: (Top to Bottom) Thinking pink is what 2016 is all about and the Kate Spade Deandra frames from Safilo don’t disappoint. The deep cat eye silhouette features a creamy pink on the outside while an opaque rose fills the inside of the frame making the thin gold temples visible. Bobbi Brown’s The Hadley frames, also by Safilo, are the ideal ophthalmic frames for the rosé-sipping expert adding a sophisticated look by featuring a rose-tinted acetate clear frame. Luxottica’s Prada VPR 21S ophthalmic frames embrace a sweet on the outside, bold on the inside look with its use of two pinks—a misty rose quartz hue on the front with a darker, richer pink on the temples. Spring is in the air with Chlogan Eyewear’s Matsumoto mat10 frames. This look features lightweight metal frames in pink and a bright yellow rubber covering the ends of the temples.

Why: One can never have too much pink. With winter winding down, the warmth of Rose Quartz speaks to the spring and summer seasons ahead. The pastel hue of this color appeals directly to those looking to add a splash of color to their look without being too over the top.
