CARLSBAD, Calif.—Spy Optic is releasing a prescription version of its Happy Lens. The Rx Happy Lens is digitally surfaced and features a fully compensated design using position of wear measurements; single vision and progressive designs (Inscribe Sport 2) are available. The lens features a premium backside AR coating produced by iCoat.

“The primary purpose of a premium sunglass is to protect the wearer from the negative effects of the sun,” noted Jim Sepanek, executive vice president of Spy Optic. “Those who require a prescription can now enjoy the benefits of the Happy Lens with a digitally surfaced, fully compensated free-form design with a premium backside coating. The result is protection against all the bad rays, UV and shortwave blue light, while transmitting more of the good rays, those longwave blue light rays that provide a positive effect on circadian rhythm.”

The Rx Happy Lens is offered in polarized and non-polarized versions in Spy Optic’s complete line of sunglasses, snow and moto goggles. Base colors are bronze (brown), grey green; Spectra (dielectric coating) colors are blue, green, black, red, orange, gold, silver and pink.
