Lori Archer.

INDIANAPOLIS—UnitedHealthcare Vision is now being led by Lori Archer, who previously served as the business unit’s chief operating officer. In this new role supporting the eye health needs of more than 25 million members, Archer brings over 30 years of health care experience, including 27 years at UnitedHealthcare. She replaces John Ryan, who recently stepped down from his role leading UnitedHealthcare Vision, the company said. “It is an honor to help build on UnitedHealthcare Vision’s nearly 60 years of experience providing quality vision benefits and serving people enrolled in employer-sponsored, individual, private label and Medicare and Medicaid plans,” said Archer.

“I am inspired by the opportunity to continue developing a better health care system that makes high quality vision care more affordable and accessible, while advancing UnitedHealthcare’s innovative approach to integrated, whole-person care.”

Archer has been honored twice as one of Vision Monday's Most Influential Women. In 2008, she was recognized in her role as one of MIW's Mentors, as head of United Healthcare Specialty Benefits. In 2020, she was recognized in the Executive Suite category for her role as COO at United Healthcare Vision.

UnitedHealthcare Vision is a part of UnitedHealthcare, the health benefits business of UnitedHealth Group.
