NEW ORLEANS—Born from a unique friendship, KREWE’s founder, Stirling Barrett and Gary Black of Black Optical have teamed up to create a striking new eyewear collection, Gary Black and Stirling Barrett for KREWE.

The partnership began in an unconventional way when Black initially rejected KREWE’s eyewear line from being carried at Black Optical’s Dallas location. However, a friendship that stemmed from a mutual appreciation for design, culture and eyewear was formed and Barrett was determined to return to Black Optical with an eyewear line that could compete with the retailer’s existing brands, the company stated.

Two years later, the Gary Black and Stirling Barrett for KREWE signature collection debuted. This collaboration line includes four silhouettes: Rampart, Cohn, Tulsa and Cole that combine striking mid-century silhouettes and 60s-inspired shapes.

The collection retails for $275 to $335 and is available at KREWE and Black Optical, both in-store and online and independent optical boutiques across the U.S.
