Philanthropic Mission

To advance eye health care worldwide by partnering with NGO’s focused on eye care and eye care professionals to improve access to eye care and in doing so provide care to the needy.


Inception

First Product Donation occured in 1964


Program Results

Alcon’s philanthropic efforts include:

Alcon Medical Missions Program

Helps to improve and enhance eye health in countries where it is desperately needed. Includes training local physicians in developing countries how to perform sight savings surgeries.

U.S. Patient, Clinic and Institutional Assistance

Provides eye care products for those with a financial need.

Partnerships with non-governmental organizations

Through relationshipos with charitable organizations, helps those who need sight saving eye care across the globe.

Grant Assistance

Provides support through The Alcon Foundation to a number of organizations that align with their missions including Eye Care America, Mercy Ships, Orbis, Prevent Blindness America, as well as to organizations and programs that contribute to creating sound communities where Alcon employees live and work.

Disaster Relief

Provides products to aid people affected by a natural or man-made disaster.

Employee Volunteer Programs

Includes trained employee vision screeners participating in vision screenings in the community, volunteering a local schools and other organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
