Green Island, NY— In celebration of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Adidas, the Official Sportswear Partner of the Games, launched a line of limited edition eyewear in its Evil Eye Pro, Supernova, and Adivista models. The limited edition Olympic eyewear is available in the official Beijing Olympic colors: white, black and gray with chrome highlights.

All three models of eyewear come equipped with the patented TRI.FIT system, which enables athletes 8-degrees of adjustment in the temples, and the Double Snap Nose Bridge, which features a traction grip to prevent slippage. According to Adidas, these technologies provide the athletes with a secure and optimum fit.

To combat fatigue from light fluctuations, the lenses of these sunglasses incorporate Adidas’ Light Stabilizing Technology (LST). According to the company, LST harmonizes extreme light fluctuations, ensures accurate depth perception and protects wearers from harmful UV rays.

The company stated that the Evil Eye Pro is, “a favorite among cyclists from mountain bikers to Tour de France stage winners.” The Supernova, a 2006 Eurobike award winner, is customized for running and cycling, and according to the company is ideal for triathlons. The newest addition, the Adivista, is a multi-sport piece. It offers a LST Vario lens, which according to the company automatically alters lens tints and filter levels according to UV exposure, thus highlighting an athlete’s surroundings.

Adidas is proud of its eyewear products and hopeful that they were beneficial to the athletes wearing them at the Games. “Adidas knows sports and we create equipment that enhances how you play. Eyewear is no different. Visual focus is a critical part of an athletes performance and we hope our eyewear helped Beijing Olympians reach their peak performance,” says, Jeff Ravreby, U.S. brand manager, Adidas Eyewear.

Among the athletes who competed at Beijing this year in Adidas Eyewear is track star, Jeremy Wariner. Wariner won the 2004 Olympic 400 meter gold and 4 x 400 meter relay gold wearing the Evil Eye Pro and the Supernova.
